Bring breeders to the marketplace, and earn on what they sell.
If you write about heritage livestock, run a breed community, or people already ask you where to buy good stock, the HoofnHorn affiliate program pays you a share of our fee on every sale you set in motion.
The marketplace has not opened yet. The program opens with it. Send an enquiry now and we will come to you first, before it goes live.
What you earn
Two rates, and there is not a third. No tiers to climb, no volume targets, no rate that quietly changes on you.
- 20% of our closing fee on sales by a breeder you referred, for 12 months from the day they open their account.
- 10% of our closing fee on a purchase by a buyer you referred.
A share of our fee, not of the animal
HoofnHorn never touches the purchase price. The buyer pays the breeder directly, and we charge a closing fee on the sale. Your share comes out of that fee, so nothing you earn is taken from what the breeder gets for the animal, and nothing is added to what the buyer pays.
Our fee is capped per sale, which means your share of it is capped too. A rare animal that sells for a great deal of money does not earn you an unlimited amount, and we would rather say so here than have you find out from a statement.
Why the seller rate is the higher one
Because a breeder who lists here is worth more to this marketplace than a single buyer is, and the rate should say so plainly rather than leave you to work it out. If you can only do one thing, bring us breeders.
Who this suits
- Writers and creators covering heritage breeds, homesteading, conservation genetics or small-farm livestock.
- Breeders with a waiting list longer than their herd, who already send people elsewhere.
- Breed associations and registries whose members want a venue built around pedigree and conservation status rather than liveweight.
- Veterinarians, consultants and haulers whose clients ask them where to find good stock.
How it will work
You get a link. Someone follows it, and we remember that it was you who sent them for 60 days, whether or not they sign up the same day. When a sale of theirs closes and the fee is paid, your share is recorded, held while the sale settles, and paid out once your balance passes the minimum. Exact figures for the hold and the minimum come with the affiliate agreement.
Nothing is agreed until the marketplace is open, you have an account, and you have accepted that agreement. The rates above are what we intend to publish, not an offer made to you. Our terms of use say the same thing.
Ask to join
Tell us who you are and who reads you. We answer every enquiry, and we are not screening for size: a person with two hundred of the right readers is worth more here than a general farming account with fifty thousand.
What you send goes to a person at HoofnHorn and nowhere else. See the privacy policy.
